I’m Angie, and I’m a Canadian lover of my dog, Otis, my sweet husband, really cold white wine, and all things words. I am a corporate worker bee by day, and a word whisperer by night.
As a child, all I wanted to do was read and write. Once I grew up, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in language and communication, and subsequently graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature and English. Soon after, I landed a job as a corporate skirt, and dreams gave way for the every day realities of adulthood.
Nearly a decade later, I know that my heart truly lies in editing, so, here I am. I have a strong academic foundation, a wide variety of professional experiences, and a deep-down, can't-ignore-it urge to make black and white text into something more.
I have academic, professional, and personal experience in copy editing, proofreading, self-publishing, and stylistic and structural editing, in topics ranging from literature, social work, business administration, health insurance, public education, and human resources.
This dynamic range of experiences has prepared me to take on any topic in any medium, whether it's a collective agreement, user's manual, short story, essay, or advertisement.
